About

Mom at a farmers market in San Francisco
I'm a small-town Oklahoma girl with an adorable little mother who has a penchant for good ole' down home Southern cooking.  Mom's an amazing cook, and not in that "she's my mom and her cooking is the only thing I've ever known" kind of way.  I've spent several years living outside of Oklahoma, have traveled extensively in the US, and have even spent some time abroad.  I have compared her food to a lot of great food.  She's the real deal.

In true "little Southern lady" fashion, she's also quirky beyond quirky.  She's set in her ways, makes strong, declarative statements out of nowhere, and does crafty projects just because that's what she thinks she's supposed to do.  She routinely says outrageous, nonsensical things that entertain my brother Jason and I to no end.

I'm currently between graduate school and professional life and am living at home with Mom.  I have used this time at home with her to hone my cooking skills and learn all the things I stubbornly refused to when I was in high school.  She pays me back by entertaining me with her craziness.  This blog will give you some insight into both of these elements of our relationship.  I'll mostly share her recipes, but her words of wisdom and other tidbits will also be included.  I hope you enjoy getting to know her and her cooking!
